AI, the revival of God.

God was dead, now its being back from the grave! We humans are programable creatures. We will adhere to belief systems to make sense of the chaotic and complicated world that surrounds us. Our brain is frozen in the myriad of possibilities available to us and so most of us need a structure to help us navigate this chaotic world. Religion used to be that structure for most of human history. Like an operating system, it would tell you what to do, how to react, what values to comform too, when to celebrate and why. Scripture and the priest would offer a perfect guide to follow. Some even argue that the values present in Christianity gave an edge to European societies over pagan ones. The corruption of the church couple with the advances of science and rationality, made religions fall out of fashion and become obsolete. Granted the values professed by these religion stayed there, people kept acting as Christians even if they didnt believe in the christian god anymore. The state and media have tried to implant itself as the new gods, but their power was waning with the advent of social media. After this failed attempts, a new more powerful god has arisen: AI. People now flock to AI to ask for advice on how to live their life, they ask what to buy, where to go to for holidays, how to solve their everyday problems.We must be warry though, this new god has a master and this master doesnt have in mind the best interests for you. What will we do when the companies running these ais start charging to make the ai recommend certain products? Or for you to vote for a certain candidate? All hail the new god!
